For most of us, life slowed down after the coronavirus hit. But some of us were called to action. These are the stories of those who stepped up when their communities were down. Terri Jones manages the TAPS Survivor Care Team, a non-profit that provides personal support to grieving military families. Terri has a special kind of strength. Taking Action with the Boys & Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club are longtime partners of New York Life, bonded by a shared belief in the power of community. So when we heard that the Madison Square Boys & Girls Clubʼs Navy Yard Clubhouse needed to boost their attendance numbers and local pride, we stepped up. In addition to donating a much-needed gym lighting system, we worked with iconic streetwear brand Awake NY to create jerseys that capture the youthful, optimistic energy of the Clubhouse. Taking Action with Eluna
An estimated 1 in 12 American children experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18*. That's what makes New York Life’s partnership with Eluna's Camp Erin so unique and important. Camp Erin is the nation's largest youth bereavement program that offers children a weekend away of healing and remembrance. This year, our agents helped bring Tulsa campers back together for a special reunion under the stars, revealing a new constellation—one made up of stars named after their loved ones. Retired U.S. astronaut and Chickasaw Nation citizen John Herrington also dropped in with a personal message for the kids.
